Empower Divinity Charity Fashion Show – A Journey of Inclusion and Empowerment

On 27th September 2019, Surat witnessed a truly historic moment. It was on this day that the city came together to celebrate compassion, empowerment, and inclusivity through the “Empower Divinity Charity Fashion Show.”

This event was not just a fashion show – it was a platform where strength, courage, and hope walked hand in hand. Organized with the purpose of empowering women and creating opportunities for differently-abled individuals and children from underprivileged backgrounds, the event reflected our shared belief that every person deserves dignity, recognition, and a chance to shine.

A Golden Chapter in Surat’s History

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, whose sensitivity and encouragement brought warmth to the occasion. Alongside him, Smt. Anjaliben Rupani, Home Minister Shri Pradipsinh Jadeja, Collector Shri Dhaval Patel, Municipal Commissioner Shri Banchhanidhi Pani, Former Surat Police Commissioner Shri Satish Sharma and his wife, BJP Mahila Morcha National President Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, Surat City BJP President Shri Nitinbhai Bhajiyawala, and senior women officers DCP Smt. Vighi Choudhary and Smt. Panna Mohmaya honored the stage with their presence.

This collective representation of leaders, officers, and dignitaries sent a powerful message: when society comes together, true empowerment begins.

A Ramp That Told a Story

The most touching part of the evening was when differently-abled children, visually challenged participants, and children from slum areas walked the ramp holding hands with dignitaries and leaders. The atmosphere was not one of sympathy, but of shared pride and joy. Every step on that ramp was a step towards breaking barriers and creating equal opportunities.

I will never forget the sight of smiles on their faces – smiles that carried both innocence and strength. The hall echoed with applause, but it was the tears of joy in everyone’s eyes that told the real story of the evening.

Honoring Women of Substance

Another highlight of the event was the felicitation of 11 self-reliant women who have become role models for society. Their stories are a testament to resilience, courage, and the power of determination. Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani himself presented the honors, making the moment even more special.

By recognizing these women, we not only celebrated their achievements but also sent a strong message – women’s empowerment is not just an idea, it is a movement that transforms communities.

Giving Back to Society

The event also stood as an example of social responsibility in action. Contributions were made towards noble causes:

  • ₹5,00,000 was donated to the Chief Minister’s Kanya Kelavani Fund for the promotion of girl child education.

  • ₹2,50,000 was offered to CAN Centre, an organization working tirelessly to educate differently-abled children.

  • ₹2,00,000 was extended to the Alliance Hope Group, furthering their initiatives for community welfare.

These contributions were not just financial transactions – they were investments in the future of our society.

A Soul-Stirring Evening

What made this event unforgettable was not just the grandeur or the presence of dignitaries. It was the philosophical depth and emotional resonance it created in the hearts of everyone present. The environment was filled with positivity, inspiration, and a shared sense of purpose.

When differently-abled children and women from all walks of life shared the stage, the entire city of Surat witnessed that empowerment is about inclusion, dignity, and opportunity.

Gratitude and Reflections

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Smt. Darshini Kothia, Gujarat Pradesh BJP Minister, whose vision and leadership made this event possible. Through her efforts, Surat has indeed written a golden chapter in its history.

Events like the Empower Divinity Charity Fashion Show remind us that progress is not measured only in economic terms but also in how inclusive and compassionate our society becomes.
